Jazz & Bites: The Perfect Combo at Take Five Kissa
This spot could easily become one of your favourite places in Bali if you’re into jazz, vinyl, great coffee and some comfort food! Take Five is located in Mertanadi Street, Kerobokan. Just next to their famous older sister Millers Record. Even though the place is quite small, I like the atmosphere, they offer an intimacy between you and this place.

When I entered the cafe, Denny, the man behind Take Five and Miller’s, greeted me while a Jazz tune played from a spinning vinyl record. This cafe was born from his passion for Jazz and Vinyl. Japan’s Jazz cafe culture inspired him, which is why he put the term “Kissa” in their social media. Kissa emerged in Japanese culture during the 20th century and means a cafe dedicated to jazz enthusiasts.

Not only offer the experience of listening to some good tunes with their Hi-Fi system, but they also serve excellent drinks and delicious comfort food. Try their killer Katsu Curry rice that will make your tummy happy. Or if you visit them on the weekend, I suggest ordering their Cireng fritters. Believe me, Jazz and cireng is a good combo 🙂

Take Five is also hosting its first intimate jazz gigs. This session featured performances by Nesia Ardi (vocals), Icang Rahimi (guitar), Samuel Pardosi (double bass), and Panji Baskoro (drums). This event is a dedication from Take Five to providing a space for jazz enthusiasts and musicians.

For me, Take Five Kissa is the perfect spot to spend your afternoon, where you can savour delicious food and coffee while immersing yourself in the soothing sounds of jazz. Whether you’re a jazz enthusiast or just looking for a cozy, laid-back atmosphere, this café offers a unique blend of great music, good vibes, and tasty bites—making it a must-visit for anyone in Bali.
